Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 April 2026
Plain English summary
FluffyStack is a cloud service comparison tool. You can browse for free. Signing in (also free) unlocks exports and the API. The data we provide is for informational purposes — always verify against the vendor's own documentation before making infrastructure decisions. Don't abuse the API. We can update these terms.
1. Acceptance
By using FluffyStack (fluffystack.dev) or the FluffyStack API (api.fluffystack.dev), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. What FluffyStack provides
FluffyStack is a comparison and governance tool for cloud services. We provide:
- A catalogue of cloud services across multiple providers
- Side-by-side service comparison
- A Service Builder for assembling approved service lists
- Policy file generation (AWS SCP, Azure Policy, GCP Org Policy, Terraform)
- Migration mapping between providers
- An API for programmatic access to the catalogue and policy generators
3. Data accuracy
Important
FluffyStack aggregates publicly available information about cloud services. While we strive for accuracy, cloud providers change their offerings frequently. Always verify service details, pricing, compliance certifications, and regional availability against the vendor's own documentation before making infrastructure or procurement decisions.
We make no warranty that the data is complete, current, or error-free. Service descriptions, pricing models, compliance certifications, and cross-provider equivalents are maintained on a best-effort basis.
4. Generated policy files
The AWS SCP, Azure Policy, GCP Organisation Policy, and Terraform files generated by FluffyStack are starting points, not production-ready policies. You are responsible for:
- Reviewing every generated policy before applying it
- Testing in a non-production environment first
- Understanding the implications of deny-by-default policies
- Ensuring the policy meets your organisation's specific security and compliance requirements
FluffyStack is not liable for service disruptions, access lockouts, or compliance failures caused by applying generated policy files without adequate review and testing.
5. Accounts and API access
Signing in via GitHub or Google is free and gives you an API key. You agree to:
- Keep your API key confidential
- Not share your API key with others (each person should have their own)
- Not circumvent rate limits or abuse the API
- Not use automated tools to scrape the website when the API provides the same data
We may suspend or revoke API access for abuse, excessive load, or violation of these terms. Current rate limits: 30 requests/minute (anonymous), 120 requests/minute (authenticated).
6. Intellectual property
The FluffyStack website, its design, code, and original content are owned by us. Cloud service names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here under nominative fair use for the purpose of identification in a comparison catalogue.
Data you export (service lists, policy files) is yours to use however you wish. We claim no ownership of your exported configurations.
7. Limitation of liability
FluffyStack is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Inaccurate or outdated service information
- Consequences of applying generated policy files
- Service downtime or data loss
- Decisions made based on FluffyStack data
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
8. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the API or database
- Interfere with the service's operation or other users' access
- Reverse-engineer the API for the purpose of building a competing service
- Misrepresent FluffyStack data as your own original research
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a new "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated terms, please stop using the service.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
